Hello, hello, hello, my friend. I don't know what to say to that. Hi, everyone. Hello, everybody, and welcome to the 23rd episode of The Daily Unpacking.
Today we've had a really good day. It has been a day of work and of work, work, work, work, work. You can't see it right now, but I'm actually twerking. Let me tell you what we did today, okay?
It's actually pitch black. I can't even see Kayla's face, which is, there you are. Hi. Hi.
Here I am. There we go. We woke up and we were in bed for a little bit and then we decided to stay in today. Actually, we didn't decide to stay in, we decided to work.
So we, uh, did we meditate this morning? No, we didn't. We'll meditate tonight. Tonight, yeah.
We packed our stuff and we went about working. Kayla's feeling a little bit menstruational. I guess that's how you could call it. Yeah.
That's what it felt like. Yeah, she gets period cramps for a third of the day approximately. Or actually probably more than that. They didn't, they stopped being as bad towards the end of the day, but they just started to make my butt uncomfortable.
But this morning it was really bad. Yeah. And we went to eat um at Starbucks. Well, we didn't actually eat there.
We got a couple of coffees and we worked on our Instagrams and on, yeah, Instagram. Yeah, and I looked at our hotels for Chiang Mai. Did you book anything or not? No, I haven't booked anything yet.
Okay. That's cool. And um after that we went back to our beloved vegan place and we ate some good food there and actually I'm a little bit hungry now, but I'm going to go to sleep, so. When you're so poor that you have to sleep for lunch.
For dinner. For dinner. We had a really good conversation when we were at the vegan place today too. Yeah, what did we talk about?
We talked about life, really. Well, we talked about where we kind of see the future of technology heading and how that is going to affect the dissemination of information, true information and misinformation and how the blockchain will help verify that. And that was a really cool conversation. It was actually, Steve is probably going to appreciate this, this, this, this episode because he loves the blockchain as we know.
We talked about geospatial data and we talked about, uh, well, actually we didn't talk that much about geospatial data. We talked mostly about truthful and untruthful information, how we can verify it with the blockchain that it is truthful. And since the blockchain is new, everything is not hypothetical, but we'll see in the future how it evolves. Yeah, you're really excited to be a part of that.
Oh yeah, I actually am really excited to be part of that. And what we actually touched on also is that it doesn't matter if mass adoption happens or if everybody in the world starts using the blockchain because we will. And the people that believe in it will use it and then that will be an ecosystem of people that uses the blockchain. So we will live in the world of purely blockchain sometime in our lifetimes.
And that excites me so much. We're so young. We're so young and we have all this life in front of us and we can't even imagine how the future is going to be. We only know that it's going to be so crazy that we can't even imagine it.
Right. Like it was back in like, you can imagine people that were 20 in 1980 or 1970 that are alive today and that see how the world has changed and they couldn't have imagined it being this way in 1970, right? That's how it's going to be for us too, but just crazier, right? So it has been a really good day.
It has been a good mental day. I really want to start getting up in the morning and meditate and read and stretch and do some physical exercise before I pick up my phone and start getting impulses and impressions from the outside world. Because I know how beneficial that could be for the mind and for the rest of the day and essentially then compounded for life. So I'm excited to try that out.
See if I have ADHD. I've been trying this for years now, but maybe we'll start and be able to do that starting tomorrow. I just want to do one day at a time. Right, that's all you need to do.
It's simple activities. From the moment I wake up, I want to look at my phone to simply turn off the alarm, get up, brush my teeth. What's that? Brush my teeth.
Meditate. Meditate. Stretch. Stretch.
Do physical exercise. Read. And then read and then grab my phone and do all that before I grab my phone. I want to practice that.
Well, actually, I want to get up and cuddle you first. And then I want to... I see that smile on your face. I know that smile.
That helps me have a better day. I know that. It really does. I truly believe that because I've seen it.
So, wake up, cuddle Kayla. Brush my teeth. Meditate. Stretch.
Exercise. Read. Stretch, exercise, read. Grab phone and eat breakfast.
Grab phone and eat breakfast. And that can happen simultaneously. Yes. And why I want to do that, we agreed on, or I agreed on myself with, that I don't have to think about wanting or...
Because I know I want to do these things and that they are important for me to do for many different reasons. And so that I don't have to think about them throughout the day and stress about having to go do them when I've already done them. Because when I've already done them, I don't have to think about doing them. It's just logic, right?
Right. So then, I think it's going to be beneficial for how present I am throughout the day, how well I manage my thoughts, my emotions, and how well, again, compounded I manage life. You've also been doing really well lately about managing your emotions. Yeah.
And actually, I read about it in the book right now, A New Earth, that some people don't, like, don't need... Because he explained, like, the pain body and all that stuff. But, like, if we're able to detect the emotions of the ego before we identify with them, then we can pull out of that. And that's why I think I've done well is because I've been able to do that.
I don't want to feel sad. I don't want to be annoyed. I don't want to be, you know... So I think I've been good at detecting it and addressing it as quickly as it happens.
And it's not like I've walked around being an angel, an angel happy all the time. It's more that it has been just as mood swingy, but I have been able to detect it and not allow myself to be pulled down by it. And that's a plus. That's a huge plus.
I'm proud of you for that. Thank you. Thank you. I feel sweaty.
We are in a non-air-conditioned room. We have been for... This is the fourth night. Yeah.
I feel like I want to shower all day long. Yeah, while our water is out. Oh, shit. You're right.
There's no water in the sink. There's no water in the shower. Did you try to flush? No, because I kind of have to pee, but I'm okay.
You can take a piss without flushing, though. Yeah, that's true. I might end up doing that. But we only got one flush left, so we got to double up on our shit before we flush.
Shotgun and shitting tomorrow morning. Well, check the water first in the sinks. It might come back on by then. True, true.
Let's hope that. Yeah. Otherwise, we're headed to Starbucks in the morning. Yeah, first thing in the morning.
I actually really enjoyed working at Starbucks today. Most of the places that we've been working don't really have anybody else there. And we're like in these restaurants with Wi-Fi, like with our computers up. With Italian Fossa Nova music playing.
Yeah, and we're like working. So it was nice to be in a space where other people are on their laptops and working. I had my first coffee, like latte in, fuck, I didn't even have a coffee. Latte in Norway.
No, it was like six months ago. Yeah, it was really nice. It was really refreshing, especially since it's so hot and humid in Bali. Thankfully, my Floridianness prepared me.
And so this is the type of weather that I'm used to. But at the same time, I'm also used to having air conditioning. So sometimes it's even hotter in the room than it is outside when we come in. Because the door's been shut and it's so stuffy in here.
So sometimes we come in from outside where it's hot and it's even hotter in here. Actually, 90% of the times when we come back in here, it's hotter in here than outside. But it's not that bad tonight. We have the window open and it's cooler out.
It's like 75 degrees Fahrenheit. I don't know what that is in Celsius, but... It's probably like 28. So the temperature dropped a little bit tonight, which is unusual and it's nice.
It feels good, yeah. Yeah, it feels good. Other than that, I hope y'all are having a great time. I actually made a piece of content today to promote our podcast on my Instagram, which I was really proud of.
It was a really good piece of content. I was impressed with it. Thank you. So if you guys want to go see that, my Instagram is Felipe with double E at the end, Munoz with double Z at the end.
