We sat down with Soloman Gottfried, the music and programming director of Close Up NYC, a new jazz bar in LES, on the heels of their one year anniversary and the closing out of their "Roots in Sound" music festival. Sol had a lot to say about community, artist attention, the atmosphere garnered by particular institutions, and a whole bunch more.
