EP 24. Working with Brands, Finding Your Voice, & Knowing Your Value As a Micro-Influencer - Feat. Fashion and Beauty Content Creator, Austen Tosone
from Millennials Talk · host Annita Katee
Research has now suggested micro-influencers are more valuable than influencers with millions of followers, due to the trust their community holds and their sincere passion for brands and products. Fashion and Beauty Content Creator, Austen Tosone, can back this up. Austen is based in New York City and not only does she work as a micro-influencer and content creator, but also has a 9-5 at Jumprope. Originally a magazine writer then editor, we speak about the cut-throat industry and the journey she went on when not one but two of the magazines she was working at, Nylon and Interview, shut down. The forced and unexpected termination meant she was thrown into the freelance writing world and she had to figure it all out for herself. While it was a learning curve for Austen, it led her to be able to create her own e-book, Right On Pitch - a detailed pitch guide to fellow aspiring writers. From imposter syndrome to networking, Austen kindly shares it all with us. I hope you enjoy this chat! Make sure you rate, subscribe, and review. It really helps us out.
