Ep 2441: McCaffrey and Mannion back for Dublin, Dessie Delivers The Good News In Customary Style, Becks The PR Master - 19/09/2022

from Second Captains · host Second Captains

Jack McCaffrey hasn’t played for Dublin since a cameo off the bench which ended in injury against Tyrone in Omagh in February 2020. Paul Mannion’s last game was the 2020 All-Ireland final.  They were both off the Dublin panel, presumed retired - until yesterday evening. We get the Fair View of their surprise return to inter-county football, what it means for Dublin… and what it means for everyone else, with 4-time Kerry All-Ireland winner Sean O’Sullivan. We also pay homage to David Beckham’s queueing stamina, Ken casts his eye over proceedings in London this morning, and we salute Eddie Butler’s love of Wales.   Hosted on Acast. In light hearted interviews with Sir Issac Newton, Adolf Hitler, Isaac Asimov, Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley, William Shakespeare, Joan of Arc, and Kilgore Trout, among others - Vonnegut trips down “the blue tunnel to the pearly gates” in the guise of a roving reporter for public radio, all the while dodging the crotchety bureaucrat, Saint Peter.Kurt Vonnegut: Reporter on the Afterlife, began in 1999 as a series of 90 Second interludes for WNYC, New York City’s public radio station. It has evolved over the past 25 years through writing and rewriting, into a fiction podcast adventure series - available everywhere you listen to pods. This provocat The Real World Radical Media Group We live in a sick and sad world, where we value only what we can see. We see others and judge without knowing. We live in a world where social class is valued more than human quality.
