In this episode, Joey is joined by two special guests – Mike “the Sports Guru” Hurley, and Dan “the King of Hasbrouck Heights” Behrens, to preview the 2023-24 NHL season. They start off with a look into the Bruins and Islanders rosters and their offseason moves, including Brad Marchand being named captain of the Bruins, the losses of Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci, the Islanders signing Ilya Sorokin and Pierre Engvall to eight-year extensions, and New York’s decision to trade for Bo Horvat last season. Additionally, the trio examines the Eastern and Western Conferences with a breakdown of who they believe will make the playoffs in each and ultimately who will be their Stanley Cup Finals champion. They explore the Pittsburgh Penguins trading for Erik Karlsson and the Toronto Maple Leafs' addition of Tyler Bertuzzi. At the end, they offer their predictions for multiple awards, including the Hart Trophy winner.
