Ep 25 - Jake Shears (Part 1) [with Will Jackson]
from Big Diva Energy Hosted by Big Diva Energy
Let's have a kiki, Divas! And we're going to bloody need one. Then a lie down. Recorded the day after the US election, having stayed up all night to greet an apparent victory for Donald Trump, in this episode, frankly, Holly and Tom are: All. Over. The. Place. Emotionally, psychologically, organisationally. And in much the same way as the whole election got flipped turned upside-down, just you wait for the twist that turns this episode on its head 30 minutes in. It's not quite in the same league, but, like Trump's presidency, listen for the sound of wheels falling off. Here to talk about the incredible Jake Shears is the no-less incredible, long-time listener, first-time caller - Ms Attitude herself - Will Jackson! Come with, as the gang try desperately to hold it together for Jake's early-life tour of the States; from Seattle, to Arizona and finally New York, just in time for the formation of glam-rock hit-monsters, Scissor Sisters. Along the way, we give no publicity whatsoever to erstwhile family band, the Jackson 3, Tom reveals his origin story as the Karen of Southwark and Will's fracking addiction gets a lot of airtime.
