Ep. 25: Joseph Stalin

from The Fritz Boyz Podcast · host Fritz Boyz Network

"A single death is a tragedy; a million is a statistic" - Joseph Stalin. He would demonstrate just what he meant by this throughout his thirty-year career as the dictator of the USSR. Stalin ruled with an iron fist using things like manufactured famine, mass arrests, brutal state repression, and murder to secure his power and keep his terrified citizens loyal to the state. Through his tyranny, he transformed Russia from a backward monarchy into a superpower that we know today. Despite all of this, there was a time when Stalin was a nobody. So grab a hammer (or a sickle) and join us for this week's epic episode, and let us learn good Russian history, yah??*Thank you to zapsplat.com for the battle sound effects (pew pew!)and to Dan Carlin for his telling of the Eastern Front in his series: Ghosts of the Osfront.
