Today we're talking about badass Filipina, Nieves Fernandez. When the Japanese showed up in the Philippines during WW2 and started taking over and doing all their evil shit, she took the quote, "Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats," to heart and took a break from teaching to do exactly that. Armed with a bolo machete, and homemade guns and grenades, she made the Japanese pay in blood for their invasion. Enjoy!
