Ep: 26 Emmy Lou Harris

Emmy Lou Harris is “Music Royalty”.  Some people are good, others great and then there are legends.  That is Emmy! Her genre is a combination of folk and country -rock delivering over 15 million record sales, garnering 14 Grammy Awards, and three CMA Awards. She is an artist and a song connoisseur driven by the story that the lyric’s tell, making her a songwriter and performer that is a "must see".  Emmy talks about her love for helping animals and her special project, Crossroads, in Nashville, TN, which takes "companion animals" and unites them with “abandoned” kids giving them a purpose and teaching life skills.  We talk of her love for the game of baseball which Emmy sees as providing good lessons in life, “life is full of highs and lows and you learn to celebrate the little wins”. She shares with us her most memorable National Anthem sung at the National League Playoffs. Our conversation travels to one of Emmy’s highpoints in her life, her 2006 World Tour with Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits and their fabulous duet, “All the Road Running”.
