Starting a health journey can be very overwhelming when you have no idea where to start. That's ok, and you're not alone! In this episode I share the steps we took on our health journey and a few things I've learning along the way in women's health. Where can anyone start in their health journey? Regulate Stress Buy high quality organic foods Cut out processed foods Change out your laundry soaps, body soaps, lotions, and beauty products Starting a health journey can be very overwhelming in today’s world. Recently I’ve shared a few blog posts about how nutrient deficiencies will actually effect your mental health and cause major mood disorders. For women, this includes PMS. First of all, you need to ask yourself a few questions. Do you have any of these symptoms of a trashed metabolism? Trashed: Body feels cold, especially hands + feet Resting pulse under 70bpm Constipated/irregular bowel movements PMS, mood swings, anxiety Low libido, low energy, restless sleep Lack of hunger, especially in mornings Those with a thriving metabolism: Warm all day & waking temp of 97.8 Resting pulse between 75-90bpm Regular (1-3x per day) bowel movements Shiny, strong hair + nails Healthy sex drive & no PMS Hungry within 30 minutes of waking Steady energy all day These are questions I never knew to ask myself. I had many of these symptoms if not all of them before my health hit rock bottom 8 weeks postpartum after baby #4. If I had known these symptoms weren’t just apart of who I was but were health markers to what my overall health was doing, I could have tackled my health sooner and prevented the major fall-out. You don't have to have been pregnant to experience burnout. If you're having trouble getting pregnant, not ovulating, experiencing spotting between periods, those are signs your body needs more nourishment. Pregnancy takes a lot out of our bodies. More than we realize. It is a marathon race that you are running for 9 whole months and then baby gets here and you aren’t getting proper rest, you’re more stressed, and probably don’t have the help you deserve in our society. Toxins in our environment and foods are the biggest contributor to our overall health depletion. Chemicals, PUFAS, herbicides and pesticides, fertilizers cause heavy metal overload, cosmetics, etc. The pill is also a cause for depletion for women. Dangers of the KETO diet and the simple answer to why people feel better when they first start. A lot of people also cut out bread and gluten. I think this is a good thing but the lie we have to uncover here is that bread isn’t bad. Store bought bread is bad.
