Ep 26. Harriet Tubman: Humanitarian and Civil Rights Activist

In this week's Notable People in History podcast, we’ll take a look at the life of Harriet Tubman. She worked for the union army as a nurse from 1862 to 1865, during the American Civil War. She would become a supporter of Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton, joining their cause in campaigning for women’s the right to vote. “We saw the lightning, and that was the guns; then we heard thunder, and that was the big guns; and then we heard the rain falling, and that was drops of blood falling. And when we went to go in the crops, it was dead men that we reaped.”
