Ep. 264: All About Adopt-A-Trails

from Wheeling Wine and Whiskey

This weeks episode is about the very satisfying work of volunteering to help keep our favorite trails open.  Every spring, it takes a dedicated group of off-road enthusiasts many days of hard work to clear and open the trails from the winter weather.  Winter in the High Sierra is a violent season that has cold temperatures, high winds, snow.  All of these factors contribute to many down trees that can impact the approved trail.  The priority is resource preservation by preventing erosion causing re-routes as users travel the trails.  Managing the trails for future use is important work and off-roaders are proud to be a part of it.If you are interested in adopting a trail, send us an email, get involved with a club or contact the forest service directly to start the process of helping preserve the areas that we all like to recreate in.Get involved! Cheers! Don’t forget to give us a review on Apple Podcasts. You’ll need to have an Apple account to post, but once you do, slide into our DM’s @wheelingwineandwhiskey on Instagram and we’ll send you a sticker so you can show you are a fan of one of the finest off-roading podcasts that exist. You can call us and leave a voicemail. I’m not sure what happened with the section of the show notes with the number to call, but here it is: (408) 800-5169. Lorenzo would love to hear from you and we’ll play it on the show. How fun is that?!?
