In this episode Simon interviews Nathan Bostock, CEO of Santander UK. Nathan explains how Santander is embracing the tech changes facing the banking industry, and the shifting customer behaviours in their interactions with the bank with the help of digital innovation. He also tells us that digital innovation evolves around good customer service so Santander tries maintain “customer-centricity” in all it does, to drive its customer experience forward, and that hiring strong digital talent is so important to them to help them achieve this. Nathan also tells us that the Santander company ethos and mindset is that of a challenger, not an incumbent, so they are always looking for opportunities for innovation that can challenge the status quo, while simultaneously taking customer data security very seriously.
