BlackLight Community is an organization that serves people of color through life, performance, and well-being. I started this originally as a support group at Southeast Missouri University- Theatre Conservatory to hold space for black artists that felt unheard in the department. After realizing this was an issue nationwide throughout the entertainment industry, I decided to make it an organization where we hold masterclasses, networking, and performance opportunities for all artists of color. We want this organization to be a safe space for all minorities in the arts to express themselves authentically, in their best light.
