Have you ever felt uneasy when smelling aerosol-based air fresheners? I have experienced suffocation when exposed to strong indoor air fresheners, as has my son. My son used to feel nauseous when we used such air fresheners. I never looked into the cause then, but I stopped using these products at home to avoid feeling suffocated and making him uneasy. As I delved deeper into environmental concerns, I was astonished to discover some shocking facts about aerosol products. This includes commercial aerosol air fresheners, perfumes, nail polish, and more. But today, we will mainly focus on air fresheners. Here's the not-so-fresh fact about air fresheners - they do not "freshen" the air. Contrary to the name, these products mask unpleasant odors, often with artificial scents. A cocktail of chemicals is used to create these synthetic fragrances, many of which could harm our health and the environment. In this episode, I delve deep into the reasons why you should stay away from aerosol air fresheners and all the science behind ground ozone that is creating havoc for us and the planet.
