Ep. 27: Buying a Wedding Venue with Bec and Kelly from Mint Springs Farm

from Just Another Biz Podcast: Unfiltered Business Tips for Wedding Pros and Creatives · host Kari Smith and Gabby Pinkerton

Welcome back for another episode of Just Another Biz Podcast! Today Kari and Gabby are chatting with the owners of Mint Springs Farm, a wedding venue just outside of Nashville that Bec and Kelly recently acquired. We know a lot of wedding pros think about venue ownership as the logical next step in their wedding career so we thought we would ask these gals all about their experience. Before we dive in, let us tell you a little about our guests today: Bec Broaddus was literally born into events—her dad was working an event when her mom went into labor! A Nashville native, she spent 12 years at G Catering, managing over 3,000 events and a staff of 150. From weddings to music award shows, Bec has done it all. She loves designing events, staying organized, and unwinding at Orange Theory. Fun fact: she was in the Hannah Montana movie! Her drink of choice? A bourbon neat or French 75. Kelly got her start in events at 18, working high-profile Cape Cod weddings, including for the Kennedy family. With a Hospitality Event Management degree, she set her sights on major cities and moved to Nashville in 2015. Since then, she’s worked on over 350 weddings, plus A-list events like the CMA Artist of the Year Awards. Now a business owner and new mom, Kelly loves hot yoga, New England sports, and a good glass of wine.   Thanks for tuning into today as we chat with Bec and Kelly about their story, how they acquired Mint Springs Farm and their why for running their wedding venue. You can find them on Instagram @mintspringsfarm or on their website to connect!
