Ep 27: Smells good, with Coconut Matter

from Switch · host Ashna and Lydia

Today we have a special guest - Diane van Zwanenberg - who founded Coconut Matter, a beauty brand which aims to enable customers to enjoy healthy and sustainable living. CM creates handcrafted cosmetics and personal care products based on the health benefits of coconuts and CM’s passion for making a positive impact. During her decades of international corporate experiences, Diane consistently challenged the conventional to develop innovative solutions. She created this brand because she believed in sourcing sustainably and designing for minimal waste to build a lifestyle that truly matters. The cosmetics and beauty industry is a hot topic for us because it’s typically used by everyone. Also, we think that, in terms of behavioural change, beauty could actually be a really simple solution - way simpler than changing your commute or what you eat.We recently did an episode on cosmetics and beauty - there are a number of issues we identified with the industry, such as packaging (and the lack of it being recycled), palm oil (in 70% cosmetics), animal testing, water usage, carbon emissions, and more. So we really wanted to dive into this topic with a brand working better in this space.www.coconutmatter.comReach out to us at www.podcastswitch.com or on instagram @podcastswitch

A Journey Through Stock Aitken Waterman Chart Beats Hosts Gavin Scott (from Chart Beats: A Journey Through Pop) and Matthew Denby work their way through all the singles produced by Mike Stock, Matt Aitken and Pete Waterman (SAW), starting in 1984 with "The Upstroke" by Agents Aren't Aeroplanes and taking in hits by Dead Or Alive, Hazell Dean, Bananarama, Princess, Mel & Kim, Rick Astley, Kylie Minogue, Sinitta, Jason Donovan, Divine, Sonia and more, as well as lesser known chart misses. Bonus interviews and discussion: chartbeats.com.au/saw (Theme music: Switch Me On by Shane Ivers at www.silvermansound.com) Improv Tabletop Ned Wilcock All tabletop RPGs require some improv, but what if you lean into the improv as much as possible? Join our cast of trained improvisers and tabletop enthusiasts as we switch off between short-form and long-form RPG campaigns using a whole slew of different game systems, all with an emphasis on collaborative discovery and high-quality performance. ”Short-form campaigns”, you ask? In these campaigns, we create and explore a brand-new world from scratch every month using the Fate Accelerated RPG system! When we sit down to record, nobody—not even the GM—knows who their characters are, or what the story is going to look like.”Long-form campaigns”, you continue? These are more like the campaigns you’re probably used to, with a consistent set of characters adventuring over an extended number of sessions. Which RPG system will we play next? Who knows! We’ll just find out as we go.Episodes release every other Wednesday.
