EP 27 | The Plot To Erase Doris

In this episode of The Slippery, Scott and Nancy revisit a haunting case they began investigating a decade ago—one they feared might never be solved. In September of 2006, Doris Worrell was brutally gunned down at her husband John's family business while he was out running a routine errand. The only witness? A young girl named Paola, who had been living with the family for years. Shortly after the tragedy, the timeline takes a bizarre turn. John uproots his life, relocating to Costa Rica to start anew, where he is eventually joined by Paola under entirely different circumstances. Years later, after a bitter falling out, secrets finally begin to unravel. Following a dramatic arrest in May of 2025, Scott and Nancy dive back into the dark web of a suspected murder-for-hire scheme. Will a decade of searching finally lead to justice, or will the truth remain slippery? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
