Ep 275 - Brian Masaba - Learning lessons at the World Cup

The Men’s T20 World Cup may be over, but we have a couple of podcasts coming up in the next few weeks to look back at all the action from the Caribbean and the USA. The first show sees the return of Brian Masaba, the captain of Uganda, the African country who were playing in their first World Cup competition.  Brian reflects on Uganda’s four group matches where they lined up in a tough group which featured the hosts West Indies, eventual semi finalists Afghanistan, New Zealand, and fellow Associate nation Papua New Guinea.  Brian adds his thoughts on the lessons learnt playing against the Test playing nations, alongside the joy of winning their first World Cup match against Papua New Guinea where the dancing began! Since the World Cup Brain has decided the stand down as the Ugandan captain.  Brian gives his reasons for doing so as well as answering several other questions from listeners about his country’s World Cup campaign. Uganda brought joy to the 2024 World Cup, hopefully they will be back again at the world stage as soon as the next tournament in 2026.
