Ep. 278 August 2, 2024 The Only Thing That Truly Matters

from Tarot Magick: A Daily Guidance Podcast · host Victoria | Moonlight and Mercury Tarot

Transcript (after intro): Friday readings are usually intended for Friday and the weekend. Today's message is much more timeless than that. So don't get hung up on the date if you're hearing this at a different time. Whenever you're hearing this, I hope that this message will resonate, and I hope that you will be able to truly hear it and receive it. I started reading The Book of the Dead. Yesterday, in fact. And if you can't hear what I'm saying right now, feel free to turn it off; but I do encourage you to hear me out, if you can. Reading this book, even just beginning to read it, has caused my sense of reality, and my understanding of what reality is, to be even more topsy turvy than it already was. It's intense. And if anyone's wondering, I'm reading the American version, which is based on the Tibetan Book of the dead. The one thing that cuts through everything else with crystal clarity is something that previously I had only understood intellectually or outright rejected, and that is that love and forgiveness are all that we have. They're the only things that matter, like truly matter. And previously, for me, on a personal note, the concept of universal love was the part that I understood intellectually. Like, for example, if you've been listening, you know how much I love The Four Agreements. And I internalized all of those agreements, like, I got it. I mean, of course, it's always a work in progress, but those things I was able to take internally. But the thread that runs all throughout the book is that the only thing we have, the most important thing we have, is love. And I really didn't connect with that. I wanted to; but I didn't, truly in my heart, connect with that until I read the Book of the Dead. And the idea of forgiveness... You know, you always hear people say you need to forgive. "You need to forgive for yourself, not because what the person did is okay," or whatever. And I really just never agreed with that. I just think that, like, you can let - I think I've said this on the podcast before - you can let go of something and not hold on to resentment without forgiving the person. And and I really believed that for years and years, and just even just beginning to read this book has shattered that. and made me understand that that was just something egoic, just some kind of egoic attachment. You may agree or disagree and you are absolutely free to do that. But to me, this isn't something that I just started to believe. This is something that I have just started to feel and know deeply in my being. It's something that has just been broken open in me. Now, some of you may be listening to this and you're already there, and you maybe you've already been there for a while, and I think that's beautiful. I've always admired people who could connect with that and and really feel that on a deep level; but I couldn't, until now. And if you are hearing this and thinking I'm spouting bullsh*t, I totally understand. That was me, too. So I'm not asking you to believe what I'm telling you, or accept what I'm telling you, if you're not ready to do that; but you're hearing it, and maybe you're hearing it for a reason. So the card I pulled for today from the Magical Nordic Tarot is Charity, and the key word is generosity. That is the extra card in this deck. I don't want this to be about charity in the sense of giving money or giving things. Although if that's in your heart to do, that's great. Do it. This is a message of generosity of spirit; the generosity of opening your heart. This is all we have. Don't hold back your love. And for those who are already close to you, express your love openly. Express your love openly. No matter what. Be generous of heart. Be generous with your compassion. There is nothing that can benefit you and others more than that. Nothing. That's all for today. Thank you for listening, and I wish you a magical day.
