In this week's Notable People in History podcast, we’ll take a look at the life of Madam C.J. Walker. Born in a one-room cabin with a fireplace, she would build a beauty empire employing 40,000 African American women and men in the US, Central America, and the Caribbean and found the National Negro Cosmetics Manufacturers Association in 1917.  “It [perseverance] gave us the telegraph, telephone, and wireless. It gave the world n Abraham Lincoln, and to a race freedom.”
