坂本龍一 1952年出生於東京，3歲開始學習鋼琴，10歲起學習作曲。 東京藝術大學碩士，1978年推出出首張奏專輯《Thaousand Knives》，同年與細野晴臣、高橋幸宏合組音樂團體「ＹＭＯ」，後來於１９８３年解散。參與演出及配樂的電影《俘虜》（1983）曾獲得英國影視學院最佳電影配樂，《未代皇帝》則皆別獲得奧斯卡金像獎、金球獎最佳電影配樂，以及葛萊美獎最佳影視媒體作品配樂專輯殊榮。 1999年創作歌劇《LIFE》，此參與眾多環保、和平活動，並鋹編評論集《反戰》，以及發起森林再造保育計畫「More Tress」，活動朝向多元發展。 2006年，為創立一個「音樂的共享之地，成立全新音樂品牌「commmons」。 -- Hosting provided by SoundOn
