This weekend will see the first ever Men’s over 70s Cricket World Cup tournament with seven countries battling it out over two weeks in the home counties of England.   Joining us today is the England captain John Evans to preview this momentous event for senior cricket.  We have had a World Cup for the over 40s, over 50s and over 60s so it’s now time for the most senior group to stage a global event and as you will hear in this podcast the players are about to live the dream, England all rounder Nick Andrews another guest on the show is ticking off the days until the action starts.   John, the Gloucestershire county batter chats about England’s plans for the event, the format and who he thinks will be their main rivals.  Meanwhile Australian vice-captain Murray Harrison gives his thoughts on their chances of winning the World Cup.     The World Cup has also linked up with the Bob Willis fund, the prostate cancer charity.   Bob Willis sadly died of prostate cancer in 2019.
