EP 3: FARTS ARE UNIVERSALLY FUNNY: Edel Carey & Oonagh McGinn, Strike a Balance Between Stressful Day Jobs and Making People Laugh

Balancing social work and stand-up comedy? It’s not as easy as it sounds…In Episode 4 of The Wildings Pod: Roleen Conn is joined by Oonagh McGinn and Edel Carey. Two highly experienced social workers who also happen to be comedians. With over 15 years’ experience in probation, child protection, and elderly care, Oonagh brings a deep understanding of people and real-life challenges. Edel, with 18 years working in children’s care facilities and strategic health, shares her perspective on structure, organisation, and what it takes to manage her high-pressure schedule.Together, they talk about the reality of balancing demanding careers with comedy, how being organised “to the letter” shapes their lives, and why some jokes are definitely not for the kids. The conversation also explores something many people struggle with — learning to care less about what others think, and how that mindset shift can change everything. This episode is a mix of honest conversation, humour, and insight into both the social work profession and the world of stand-up comedy.Find out what Oonagh's at here:https://www.instagram.com/oonaghmcginncomedy/?hl=enhttps://www.tiktok.com/@oonagicxkytFind out what Edel's at here:https://www.instagram.com/edel_carey/Find out what Roleen's at here:https://www.tiktok.com/@roleenconncomedyhttps://www.instagram.com/roleenconncomedy/Follow the Pod on Instagram & TikTok!https://www.tiktok.com/@thewildlingspodcasthttps://www.instagram.com/thewildlingspod/If you want to see more from Roleen and other guests, please visit @TheWildlingsPod on Instagram.
