Ep. 30 - Dealing with the "Broken" Child

from Fathers Fire · host Jody Sedrick

Take a walk with me in the snow as I share a VERY challenging week with my daughter. Straight up gents, this was a week of testing my patience, my internal resolve to truly love and support my daughter as she was truly struggling with some internal challenges.  Fortunately, I'm blessed with an amazing wife who provides me and we provide each other a "parent check" to make sure we are acting in a positive, loving way with our kids especially when they are being difficult. Show highlights: Shout out to Sean Brasfield for releasing his first book "Lights, Camera, Success" Taking a walk in the snow as I share my frustration and thoughts for this week Dealing with an extremely obstinate daughter Setting down consequences for certain actions but knowing when to step back from bringing the hammer down. Our daughter finally coming in and having an emotional breakdown, crying her little heart out. The principle of broken Recognizing that we are all broken at times and need someone to help us put the pieces back together again I also have to quit walking in the snow. It's too cold to talk and share thoughts ;) Thank you guys for joining me every week on FathersFyre. I would love to hear how you deal with the obstinate, hurt child and help them push through the pain and develop the skills to cope with the hurtful challenges of life.  Something on your mind give me a shout at [email protected] or [email protected]. You can also check me out on Instagram @jodysedrick I invite you to also check out the podcast I co-host with my wife Judie Sedrick called Choose Don't Excuse.
