Ep 30: International Women's Day - Is There a Place For Women's Specific Products in Cycling?

from Cycling Demystified - Bike Fit, Mechanics and Soft Issues · host Cycling Demystified - Bike Fit, Mechanics and Soft Issues

Today we are celebrating International Women’s Day and it’s also Mother’s Day on Sunday here in the UK.  We felt this was an appropriate time to discuss some of the challenges we see women facing in cycling, from our perspective as practitioners, who are helping riders every day to find their best riding experience.  We wanted to bring some female voices into the podcast so we’ve asked some riders to share their experiences of bike fitting and offer their words of advice and wisdom.  All these women come from very different riding styles, experiences, ages and backgrounds and we thank them all for their time and effort in sharing their stories. You’ll hear from a selection of female riders, interspersed by a discussion with Wei, Mat & Ev, where we try to respectfully explore the validity of labelling cycling products as ‘women’s specific’ and how you can best navigate your choices within the bike industry.  Stick around to the end for more useful advice, tips and stories from female riders and women who work in the industry.  Find out more about the Ultra Distance Scholarship here: https://www.ultradistancescholarship.com/ Want to know more about the women behind the UDS listen to Episode 16 where we interview UDS founder Taylor Doyle and last year's scholars.
