Ep. 30 - SBS - The Anti-Fragile Christian #7: Love Under the Cross
from St. Peter's Helenville · host Pastor Titus
Did you know that there are four different words for love in the Greek language while English only has one? Isn't it telling that for the Greeks love was a complicated thing and it literally was different depending on the relationship and the situation? This makes sense. It also then makes sense why there is so much confusion and dissension about what love is in western cultures, especially in the U.S.A. today. What can ancient Greek teach us about love through these different terms and more, what can Scripture teach us about what love is, especially the kind of love God gives freely to us, his rebellious children? How can he love us so and how can we begin to love like that? SBS = Sunday Bible Study After our Sunday worship service at 9am, we grab some coffee, treats, and settle in for a deep dive into God's Word and how it impacts our daily life as God's children in a godless world. On February 18, 2024, we began a new Bible study called, "The Anti-Fragile Christian," written by Rev. Luke Thompson who serves in Ottawa, Canada. If you would like to follow along or do some additional work at home, here is a link to the study to view or download: https://resourcefulchurch.com/2020/10/10/the-anti-fragile-christian/ Thank you to Rev. Thompson for his work on this study and to all of you for diving into God's Word with us. This episode is the 7th lesson of the series called, "Love Under the Cross." It was recorded on April 28, 2024.
