Ep. 30 | The Rest You’ve Been Searching For | Suffering Well - Day 11

from The Bible Notetaker Podcast · host The Bible Notetaker

Today we wrote Matthew 11:28-30 from our Suffering Well - Scripture Writing Plan! Wanna know more? Read below. As we start this new year, many of us set our sights on prosperity, blessings, or even goal accomplishing. However, we all know that at some point, we will endure suffering, whether it’s due to our own actions or something God allows. Yet, in these moments, we can be confident that God is working all things for our good, shaping us to be more like Christ (Romans 8:28-29). Let’s come together and write scripture, focusing on verses that will encourage us to suffer well and honor God through our trials. What do I mean by “suffering well”? 🤔  To suffer well refers to our attitude, behavior, and heart posture in the midst of our suffering. For example, let’s say I lost my job— how do I respond in the suffering of losing my job? Do I take it out on my family and try to justify sinning against them because of my circumstance OR do I fix my eyes on Jesus and trust in His provision and path for my life. When I choose to look towards God in the midst of my suffering, I am suffering well. I am honoring Him even when I suffer b/c I know its temporary, it’s only making me more confirmed to Christ, and it’s building endurance as i navigate this fallen world as a disciple of Christ.  2 Dear brothers and sisters, a when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. 3 For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. ~ James 1:2 Thanks for listening!
