The advice that we hear non-stop is that you need to be authentic to be a leader. Most people are frustrated because they are authentic to the team, yet it is still not working. There are stages of authenticity a leader walks through. The first stage is when you focus on making everyone around you feel okay. The second stage is you go from keeping yourself to allowing it to be spoken out loud. At this stage, people are transparent.
