EP 315: How to Practice Acceptance And Letting Go (And Why These Practices Are So Beneficial)

from Showing Up To Life · host Art Burns

As we learn to dwell in the present and pay attention to what IS, as opposed to what MIGHT BE or what COULD HAVE BEEN, we develop a very important skill. Our stress comes from the emotion of fear - fear of an undesired outcome, or fear resulting from the shame of past mistakes or missed opportunities. As we practice paying attention to NOW, and doing so without judgment, we develop the skill of accepting (for now) the things we don’t want and letting go of the obsessive clinging to the things we feel we do want. The result is freedom from stress and alignment with our truest self. And this is where our success and happiness reside. Would you like to learn some of these simple practices? Let me know in the comments.
