EP 32: “Baby Steps to Greatness” featuring Emmy nominated director and producer Jayson Haedrich

Jayson is an Emmy nominated non-fiction producer / director based in New York. Trained as a cinematographer and video journalist, he developed his craft filming NYPD Hostage Negotiators, funeral directors, and exorcists. A veteran with over 20 years experience, he’s produced on several iconic non-scripted TV shows, including Showtime’s The Circus, TLC’s 90 Day Fiancé, VICE’s F*ck Thats Delicious, and A & E’s Dog: The Bounty Hunter. He created Criminal Defense, a documentary following public defenders in Brooklyn and has overseen projects from concept through series.  His documentary short, Tribute, followed the design and installation of the Tribute in Light 9/11 memorial; he documented the public debate surrounding the rebuilding of the World Trade Center site in America Rebuilds: A Year at Ground Zero ; and produced feature doc Gubernatorius, which captured the story of five unlikely candidates during the California Recall election of 2003. A passionate storyteller, he has experience leading production crews around the world, directing larger than life talent, and consistently getting even his most challenging subjects to reveal themselves.
