Wound healing, in particular, highlights the power of the human body in times of crisis – manipulating its resources and cells to restore homeostasis. But what happens when that fails? In high-income settings, the simple answer is negative pressure wound therapy – which costs thousands of dollars a device. But that’s not sustainable in every environment around the world.
