from Leaders Lane™ · host Monica Kade
“I suggest to people, learn something new you’ve never done before for 30 minutes, to stretch those boundaries to train your mind to be better.” - Raz Chan, The Moment HQ podcast Raz Chan is an award winning author, coach, martial arts champion and expert on maximising human potential. Raz is on a mission to help foster human excellence in youth around the world so that they can realise their dreams. His life lessons in determination, will power, and resilience began in 1979 at the age of 10 when his father lost the family savings to bankruptcy. Money was scarce for many years and sacrificing a normal childhood was expected for the greater good of the family. Raz spent the majority of my childhood working 14 hour days along the side with my father, mother and siblings to help make a living. Home life was turbulent and he was bullied at school. Despite this experience and all his wonderful success today, Raz remains humble and exudes a warm and kind nature. He’s a wonderfully grounded guy. LISTEN TO RAZ AND I HAVE A CHAT ABOUT HIS LIFE CHANGING MOMENT: OVERCOMING THE ADVERSITY OF FAMILY BANKRUPTCY AND SCHOOL BULLYING. We discuss overcoming tough times, navigating the challenging moments and believing in the possibilities. Learn about: What it was like growing up in a poor family The skills Raz learnt by working the majority of his childhood How your current situation doesn’t have to be your future Learn about the principles of martial arts: honesty, focus, discipline, awareness, and humility What he’s doing today and how he’s helping the next generation think differently The Moment HQ Signature Questions: What Raz believes is his greatest asset? What he’s is afraid of? The greatest piece of wisdom he’s been given.
