Ep. 33 // WIGing Out

from Terminal Exchange

It’s the final countdown… We’re preparing to wrap up this round of 4DX at the end of August. Will we meet our goal of reducing driver turnover to 25%? Only time will tell. Phillip sits down with Caleb from the Recruiting Team and Nathan Anderson from the Load Planners and Account Managers team in this episode of Terminal Exchange. Recruiting Team Increase online reviews. Increase drivers in Certified RED. Caleb and the Recruiting Team have completed their first WIG of increasing online reviews for Nussbaum, and now they’re working on expanding the number of drivers in Certified RED. He explains what Certified RED is and how it doesn’t just benefit the driver; it benefits the company. What drives you to become Certified RED? “Well, we’re employee-owned. So being employee-owned means if it’s good for the company, it’s also good for you as the driver. It’s tying the two together.” Load Planners and Account Managers Team Decrease home time misses. Nathan Anderson and the Load Planners/Account Managers team are facing a frustrating feat head-on. How can they get drivers home successfully and on-time? Check out how they ensure a load is good-to-go for a driver and what counts as a home time miss. They’re holding themselves to a high standard and are hard at it. “Where is this load going to end this guy? You’re calculating his drive time now, the hours left on his 70, how many you expect him to have once he’s delivered that load, and the probability of having a load in that area that’s going to get him back home.” Quotes Caleb“We’ve seen a very surprising effect from those. Since we’ve done it, we have people calling in saying, ‘Wow, you guys have the best reviews online that we’ve seen!’”“It will 1. Benefit you. It will 2. Benefit the company. And anybody with the mentality of, ‘Oh, it’s all for the company…’ Well, we’re employee-owned. So being employee-owned means if it’s good for the company, it’s also good for you as the driver. It’s tying the two together.”“A lot of companies have the mentality that a recruiter is there to get you in the door and after that, you don’t talk to recruiters anymore. We enjoy drivers that come up and talk to us again after we hire you; it’s nice to still have a relationship with you.”Nate“All those things add time and work for not only the driver but the load planner, the CSR, and the driver manager.”“Where is this load going to end this guy? You’re calculating his drive time now, his hours left on his 70, how many you expect him to have once he’s delivered that load, and probably the probability of having a load in that area that’s going to get him back home.”“We’ve seen some real good improvements over time. The percentage of loads with bad or inaccurate information has definitely dropped.” Links Ep. 18: The Wildly Important Gap Ep. 27: So Many WIGS

Managing Next Generation Energy Systems Cambridge University Background Stakeholders working with energy systems have to make complex decisions formulated from risk-based assessments about the future. The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation. Lynne's Podcast Lynne August MD Dr. A offers her interpretations and applications of Dr. Revici’s profound research at DrRevici.com and the Revici Journal. Dr. Revici was arguably fifty to one hundred years ahead of his time in his application of quantum physics to medical sciences. As a once-aspiring physicist, this alone propelled Dr. A to Dr. Revici. As a physician, she felt compelled, and in some palpable way responsible, to understand Dr. Revici’s ability to control pain and achieve remissions in terminal cancer patients with his non-toxic “guided chemotherapy”, even many cancers that conventional therapy failed to control. Most of the time his questions and solutions were as unprecedented as they were effective. While Dr. Revici was primarily focused on cancer, Dr. A’s research and therapeutics to prevent and treat all chronic and degenerative disease can transform 21st century medicine.
