From a young age, Phil sensed his world was differentOne childhood afternoon, home sick with the mumps and resting in his mother’s bed, he glanced toward the doorway—and froze. There stood the apparition of a little girl, silent, dressed in pale blue with corn dollies woven into her hair.Later, a picture fell from the wall, revealing a hidden photograph tucked inside the frame—an old image of a girl strikingly similar to the one he’d seen. The house had a rhythm of its own. Toy soldiers would fly across the room without warning. At night, Phil lay paralyzed as the ghost of a woman hovered above his bed.These weren’t just Phil’s experiences. His mother, too, had stories—memories of playing with three mysterious children who visited every summer when she was young. Children, she later realized, no adult ever seemed to see.Some lives are touched by the paranormal.
