EP 334: Fear, Love, And Showing Up to Our Lives

from Showing Up To Life · host Art Burns

Right now, what emotion is motivating you? We are always motivated by SOME emotion. We’re either motivated towards something we desire. Or we’re motivated away from something we fear. That means that right now, and in every moment of every day, we are motivated by either love or fear. And because our thoughts, emotions, and sensations work in a cycle that creates its own momentum, when we operate from fear, we tend to stay in a negative emotional cycle. And when we operate from love, we tend to stay in a positive emotional cycle. Why does this matter? Because no matter what our emotions at any given moment, life keeps happening. So when you’re in a negative emotional cycle, and your kids, your spouse, your employees, or your clients reach out to you, in that moment how you react is from this negative place and is not aligned with your heart and your true, authentic self. In short, when operating from fear, we don’t show up for our lives the way we want to show up. The good news is that you have a choice! With simple practice, you can develop an awareness of your emotional motivation. And from this awareness, you can choose love over fear.
