Ep 34 - Led Zeppelin Copenhagen 1971

from The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast · host Mark Donahue

The subject of this episode is Led Zeppelin's May 3, 1971 performance in Copenhagen, Denmark. At this show they played what may be the only live performances of Four Sticks and Gallows Pole. We listen to the only extant recording of that show (a 1st gen audience), which shows Robert Plant's in his best voice. In addition to the two rare songs, we listen to one of the earliest performances of Stairway to Heaven, as well. This audience had never heard before as Zep IV wasn't out yet. Not the best recording but a legendary show.
