On the heels of the 2021 NFL Draft, we pause for a moment to take stock of the Detroit Lions performance and how the front office performed in its first draft as a team with Brad Holmes at the helm. Taking Penei Sewell in the first round was a consensus perfect pick for this team. There were questions as NFL Draft day two unfolded, but Draft Day three helped illuminate Holmes’ strategy for the Lions. In the end, Holmes’ draft strategy was entirely unexpected, but incredibly solid.
