Ep. 35 - PBC - 2 Thessalonians 3:6-18 Idleness, Despair, Discipline & Accountability
from St. Peter's Helenville · host Pastor Titus
Pastor Gunnar Ledermann & Pastor Titus Buelow continue their journey of reading the People's Bible Commentaries chapter by chapter, book by book. As they read each section of commentary, they give their personal reflections and comments for you to ruminate on and use as a springboard for your own personal study and growth as a child of God. May this be a blessing to you as you Bible Study. Godspeed! In this episode, PG & PT delve into 2 Thessalonians 3:6-18, our last section of 2 Thessalonians! This is the third and final topic of this letter, idleness. Some were not carrying their weight, either because culturally they felt they didn't need to or because they thought with the end close in the rearview mirror, there was no point in "working." Paul urges believers to take to task such people. This is to be done out of love and in order to lead those individuals into a healthy relationship with their faith and with their community. How does this apply to you? Are you being lazy? Have you despaired in your role in God's Kingdom, that you can serve, that you can be of benefit? Do you need accountability to step out of your rut? Do you need to be an accountability partner for someone in your life? Wrestle with these questions, brothers and sisters, with us! Tune in and join the discussion!
