Ep. 350: Yishayahu Chs. 53-54 by Alan Levenson | On the waters of Noah

Ch. 53 continues to speak of the relationship between Hashem and the Jewish people, but through a different angle. Here, the prophet must bear the missteps of Bnei Yisrael. "חֳלָיֵ֙נוּ֙ ה֣וּא נָשָׂ֔א וּמַכְאֹבֵ֖ינוּ סְבָלָ֑ם", our sickness he was bearing, our suffering he endured. Ch. 54: We are reminded of the intimate relationship between God and the Jewish people. It's a relationship that was promised to be tested, yet is filled with potential for its future. "וְאֵ֧שֶׁת נְעוּרִ֛ים כִּ֥י תִמָּאֵ֖ס"...Can one cast off the wife of his youth?
