In the woods, she once saw a man in flannel step behind a tree far too narrow to hide him and vanish. Later, she lay frozen beneath a shifting black mass that hovered over her bed for hours. Growing up within Pagan and Wiccan traditions, she also recalls rituals where “something” seemed to answer back, leaving her with questions about what had truly been summoned.
