EP 38 - COMMUNITY FT DALLAS ROSE

from Where Are We Podcast · host Where Are We Podcast

In this powerful episode, we sit down with @realdallasrose , a gifted music producer from Brockton, MA, and the visionary behind @getonhighstreet one of Boston’s leading podcast platforms. Shot and recorded at New Dia Dispensary in Fenway—a place close to Dallas’s heart as he grew up just around the corner— @getonhighstreet has become a pillar in Boston's creative community. This year, it’s nominated for Podcast of the Year at the Boston Music Awards, while Dallas himself is in the running for Studio Engineer of the Year. But behind the accolades and the thriving platform is a man shaped by resilience, love, and loss. Dallas opens up about growing up with three brothers and a father who, despite battling addiction, filled their home with unconditional love. This experience taught Dallas the importance of staying grounded and avoiding dependency. He also shares the devastating loss of his nephew, a tragedy that brought him and his brother closer while forever shaping his perspective on life and family. Through it all, Dallas’s strength shines as a father, despite facing the challenges of divorce. His unwavering commitment to being a positive force in his children’s lives is a testament to his character. We also explore Dallas’s journey in music—his outlet through life’s challenges—and how his work has grown to be recognized across Boston. From creating impactful art to building a community through Highstreet, Dallas Rose continues to inspire and uplift those around him. This is more than a story about music; it’s a story about resilience, purpose, and the unbreakable power of family and community. The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
