Ep 38. Cultural weekend RECAP & will tribalism ever end (even in the diaspora)?

from Daughters of Diaspora

In this week's episode, we give a recap on the recent Gambian Cultural weekend festivities in Toronto. We reflect on our favourite moments, things we enjoyed and areas that can be improved. We also touch on the importance of having such cultural events as the diaspora community as it brings opportunity for education. Additionally, we touch on the fine line between being proud of one's heritage and having arrogance to the point of thinking "you are better than...". Essentially we question whether tribalism will ever end in Gambia and abroad and how we need to strive for change.
