Durante il congresso ECTRIMS (European Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis), tenutosi a Copenhagen tra il 18 ed il 20 settembre 2024, sono state brevemente illustrate le nuove revisioni ai criteri diagnostici per la Sclerosi Multipla.Tra le modifiche di maggior rilievo vi è la possibilità di effettuare diagnosi di Sclerosi Multipla anche in soggetti asintomatici con lesioni tipiche alla RM (RIS), l'aggiornamento dei criteri di disseminazione spaziale (DIS), l'abolizione del requisito della disseminazione temporale (DIT), l'aggiunta di alcuni tools opzionali neuroradiologici (lesioni con segno della vena centrale o con orletto paramagnetico) e l'inserimento delle catene leggere libere kappa liquorali come strumento valido alternativo al rilievo di bande oligoclonali liquorali ai fini della diagnosi.
