Ep. 38 - Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA), Treating Inflammation, & the Opioid Crisis - with Harrison Frank, MD (Dr. Frank)
from The Rebel Health Coach · host Thom Underwood
Dr. Harrison Frank is a Rehabilitation physician and the Medical Director of the Frank Institute for Health and Wellness, a progressive, integrative medical center for anti-aging, rehabilitation and regenerative medicine. Dr. Frank focuses on restoring the body to its highest functioning capacity – not covering up symptoms – and that’s why I wanted to talk to him. There are a lot of people out there battling chronic inflammation by popping nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAIDs), and worst yet, popping opiates. Those drugs don’t address the root cause of inflammation, and cause a host of others problems, but there IS a better way to relieve pain and inflammation naturally, without side effects or interactions with other drugs: Palmitoylethanolamide, or PEA for short. What is PEA? PEA, or palmitoylethanolamide, is an endogenous fatty acid that is made naturally by our own bodies. It interacts with a number of receptors in our bodies to shut off or slow down the inflammatory cascade; “It’s basically turning it off at the source.” This is the way our body deals with pain and inflammation naturally. However, we can’t absorb high enough quantities of PEA through food to add more into our bodies – which is where peaCURE comes in. Why peaCURE? PEA was discovered almost 70 years ago, but they ran into issues commercializing it at the time because they couldn’t produce large enough quantities, in a quality that was appropriate. However, with recent advances in science and technology, peaCURE has been able to start producing PEA in much higher quantities and qualities. It can be used to treat any disease causing inflammation, and after 350 studies over the past few decades, no significant side effects or drug interactions have been identified. Dr. Frank goes even deeper into the science of inflammation and PEA in his article, “Palmitoylethanolamide – The Body’s Natural Anti-inflammatory,” and you can try out peaCURE at peaCURE.com. -- Resources: Learn more at peaCURE.com Check out the videos at facebook.com/peacure Connect with Dr. Frank: FrankInstitute.com "Palmitoylethanolamide – The Body’s Natural Anti-inflammatory" Do you want...
