Medical misinformation is a serious issue that is on the radar of policymakers, public health officials, pediatricians, and parents alike. It's so prominent that in 2021, with the COVID-19 pandemic raging and an undercurrent of medical misinformation working against public health efforts at vaccination, the Office of U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy issued an advisory on the deadly consequences of health misinformation and its equally concerning sibling, medical disinformation.
