As a long time teacher in the public school systems of Los Angeles, Amreen Karmali saw a need for men to have a safe space to engage in conversation about male allyship, question the influence of the patriarchy and privilege in their lives, and and become inspired to support women in their families and communities. As part of this mission, she leads online courses and speaks in schools at at conferences through the Real Talk Project. Amreen and I were in the same yoga teacher training program.
