Ep 40. Blackout Tuesday

from Let Us Say It For You · host Lee

On May 2nd, 2020, a music industry initiative created by Atlantic Records' senior director of marketing Jamila Thomas and former senior director of marketing Brianna Agyemang, was picked up by the public. The idea was that all music business halts for the day, and instead reflect on future actions. People from everywhere got involved, and on this day, many peoples timelines were flooded with black squares in solidarity. Black people are tired... We are tired... You can do whatever you want to us, but you can't then tell us how to respond to it. To everyone protesting, whether peacefully or not, we thank you.
