Ep. 40 Obama On Woke Culture We ALL have Commonality With Trump but who does he respect? Plus Eddie Murphy & Dolemite!!

from TheModernMoron podcast

Welcome to Episode #40 of the Modern Moron.  A lot of rabbit holes in this episode and they start… right now. If you remember last week's episode when we spoke with the Senator he was on his second cocktail by the end.  In this episode we go back to the beginning of our conversation when he was beginning his first cocktail… and taunting me with it as well by the way.  Why out of order you ask, because I knew you were going to ask that. The reason is I wanted you to have access to that graphic from Politico.com on all the different players in the upcoming Trump Impeachment Soap Opera. This week we start out with a by now old message from Barack Obama in a speech at the third annual Obama Foundation Summit in Chicago during the last week of October.  If you haven't heard it, we'll present it here and If you have heard it, it's worth another listen as he comments on 'Woke' culture. If you remember last week, we were looking up the definition of the term 'woke' which led to the word 'dork' and the Senator's definition of the word dork and mine were both correct apparently but very different and then you know what happened after that. Next up I tell a long-winded story about a conversation with my daughter about Donald Trump, who she is not a fan of at 10 years old.  I tell her ultimately that maybe she has something in common with Mr. Trump, which she did not care for. But maybe you have something in common with him too, and that was the point.  If you're going to get anywhere with anyone who has opposing issue with you it's best to start on common ground.   Next up is a story I heard Woody Harrelson tell about his dinner in the early 2000's with Donald Trump, Melania Trump and Former pro Wrestler and former Governor of Minnesota Jesse Ventura.  How about that foursome? Fortunately I found the clip and we let Woody tell the story. This leads to a question I had and still have: Who does Donald Trump truly respect and have reverence for?  Possibly his father? Possibly his mentor in the 80's, an attorney named Roy Cohn? But what about today? I can't come up with anyone other than his daughter Ivanka.  In fact I could see her possibly running for her own political office someday. Just throwing that out there. I think she has been able to tone down her father's messages at times.  I may not seem like it but, I think she does have influence over him and I think she's really the only person he respects. The Senator thinks he respects the not so prime Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu.  That could be an episode of it's own and I'll chime in later with the pandora's box the senator opens about Netanyahu. It's Obama's Woke Culture, How anyone can get along with Trump, Who does he truly respect, Netanya-who? Plus a Netflix Movie recommendation, on the Modern Moron...
