Ep 411 The importance of practice in photography

from The Perceptive Photographer

My good friend Ken Carlson was a lacrosse coach. In several of our conversations over the years, he has said that in his view the purpose of playing the game was to evaluate how well you practiced. The practice was the most important part of the process. Not the winning of a game, but rather how well did you prepare. In this week’s podcast, I dive a little into this topic and how it can be applied to our creative approach to photography. From working at a team to knowing what to practice and when, there is a lot to learn from looking at our images that matter or didn’t make the cut to see where we are doing well and were we need to practice more. One of the questions I get asked frequently is what sort of equipment do I use to record my podcast. I have used a variety of equipment in the years that I have been recording, but here is the current list of equipment that I am using.
